Time to wrap up my 'Picks for Springtime' series with my favorite post of them all: Springtime Lippies!!!! I love how in Spring, your tan is starting to develop, freckles are peeking through foundation, and lips are getting brighter and pinker! Here are my faves for the Spring, starting with glosses:
NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair is a bright blue-toned pink with no shimmer in it. It feels super luxurious and buttery on the lips! Full Review here!
MAC Lipglass in 'Nympette' is a bright pink with golden shimmer running through out. This is a super complex lipgloss and is a favorite of many for its gorgeous finish.
NARS lipgloss in 'Orgasm' is a cult favorite with a reason! This peachy gloss has a golden shimmer in it that gives a juicy, plumping effect and long lasting color. Full review here!
Now for hybrid lip products!
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive is a matte, creamy lip crayon that is the most gorgeous bright pink. This neutral pink will make a statement and lasts through eating and drinking! Review!
Too Faced La Creme Drenched Color Lip Cream in 'Juicy Melons' is a creamy bright coral color that is such a pretty toned down coral. This is a great coral to rock if you're intimidated by bright colors. Full Review here!

Finally, time for the lipsticks!
MAC Cremecup lipstick is a mauvey light pink. It gives a gorgeous neutral finish with out looking like you covered your lips in concealer.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Primrose is a cult favorite. This is a baby pink lipstick that wears smoothly and is super comfortable!
MAC Peach Blossom lipstick is an easy everyday lipstick that I don't think gets enough love! Its a peachy natural color that works as a great 'this goes with everything so I'll slap this on' color. Review!
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate lipstick in 17 is a deeper peach color that runs slightly coraly-pink. It is a brighter neutral that is easy to wear. Review!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink in the Afternoon is a deep coral pink that is certainly bright and spring-worthy. The wearability and finish of Revlon lipsticks is outstanding and why they are my favorite drugstore lipstick! Full review here!

NARS Lipgloss: Tasmania

I just recently posted about my first experience with NARS' reformulated lip glosses. I got the mini gloss in 'Orgasm' to try out and see if these new glosses are something I'd like (read that review HERE). To sum up my feelings about the new NARS glosses:
Yea. I like em. I decided to splurge and buy another color from the line. I settled on the color 'Tasmania,' one of the newly formulated colors:
This color is described as a 'cantaloupe pink' and that hits the nail on the head! This gloss is a bright pink that is muted a bit by a peachy orange tint to it. Its gorgeous in the shiny acrylic container.
The applicator is a really nice spongy doe-foot applicator that at first I was displeased with. This applicator does NOT allow you to get much product out of the tube as the opening is a tight fit for the wand. At first I thought 'what the hell, NARS? How am I supposed to get glossed up with out any product coming out?' but then after playing with this product for a bit I realized that the small amount you get on the wand is just enough to cover your entire bottom lip. Then you can press your lips together to transfer the right amount to your top lip, then dip the wand in again for touch ups.
The color is not ultra-pigmented but I like that it comes across as a soft pink creme. Its perfect for days when you want to get the job done quickly and not fuss over a mirrored application.
This gloss is pretty sheer on its own, though I like the juicy, plumping effect it gives my lips as well as the slight color tint. I find this gloss works great over light pink lipsticks to make the color pop a bit more and it actually works fantastic if you line your lips and fill them in a bit and then put the color over that. It makes this pretty cantaloupe color really stand out and allows the gloss to be the hero of your makeup look!

This lip gloss is a $26 gloss which is really steep. I get about 3 hours of wear time out of the gloss which I find is pretty good and it doesn't leave my lips feeling dry. This gloss has no scent (a perk of the reformulation) and is quite comfortable to wear. I find it to be far less sticky than MAC lipglasses and it doesn't settle into any fine lines or build up around the edges of your lips like the NYX butter glosses can. This is a luxury gloss that will feel luxurious on your lips. I don't know if I'll be splurging for another one of these babies anytime soon, but I am certainly happy with this color for now.

NARS Lipgloss: 'Orgasm'

NARS just relaunched their lipglosses with whole new formulations and brand spankin' new packaging. To help promote this relaunch, Sephora had a mini version of the new gloss as a 100 point perk in one of the most popular shades, 'Orgasm.'
It's so cute!! I knew I had to get my hands on this to try out the new ish. First off, let's start with the packaging. The classic NARS matte black rubberized texture is used on the cap with the bright white logo printed on to it. I think it looks super classic and sheek. The container is now a perfectly clear acrylic as opposed to the almost completely opaque old packaging which allowed you to see a hint of the color inside. This new packaging gets an A+!
The new spongy doe-foot applicator is really nice and my favorite type of applicator for glosses. The most important detail of this gloss for me was the smell. The old NARS lip glosses smelled like plastic and chemicals. It wasn't necessarily the most pleasant thing to have on your lips all day, and for that reason, I never reached for the NARS glosses I owned. This new formulation has NO SCENT whatsoever. Yay! They must have taken a hint from what seems to be the number 1 complaint of NARS lovers out there and taken out whatever smelly bandit was stinkin' up the place!
Orgasm is a peachy pink gloss with gold glitter streaks running through out. It is the color that I always tend to drift toward and also is my favorite blush color (jumpin' on the band wagon... I know).
The gloss on its own adds quite a bit of pigment to the lips and the wear time is about 3 hours with no touch-ups or reapplication. The glosses are noticeably less sticky than the original formula, but still have a stickier feel to them which is good because it means the gloss isn't sliding anywhere off your lips!
I noticed that this gloss looks extremely similar to another lipgloss I own, which is Revlon's Super Lustrous gloss in 'Peony:'
Peony is a little bit more dark pink, but otherwise, its pretty damn close. This dupe alert brings me to another point about NARS' new glosses: The price. These glosses will set you back $26 a pop and the reformulation included less product per container compared to the old ones. That's pretty steep for a gloss considering a MAC gloss will only set you back about $16.
The glosses are gorgeous and are of much higher quality than their predecessors, but I think if you can find as close a dupe as this Revlon gloss, go for the cheaper alternative. For the more unique colors in the new collection (they've kept the 23 old colors and tacked on 7 brand new ones!) there's nothing wrong with a splurge here and there if you're a gloss or NARS junkie. Guilty!
